Well, that’s a wrap on Llanrumney Hall’s House of Horrors Halloween event. We want to begin by saying a massive thank you to everyone who attended across the three days. We had a fantastic turnout with even more people turning up on the door, on top of those who had already bought tickets. The Hall is delighted that the time and effort the Trust put into this event more than paid off.
The children who attended loved the thrill of the tour and we’re pretty sure we even caught a few adults with their knees together! That’s probably thanks to our cleaner, Yolanda – who hid in our last room (the cellar) in an exterminator costume, making sure that anybody who didn’t have shivers by that point, definitely did leaving there!
The disco in the polytunnel saw plenty of groovy moves and our live Halloween themed animal room provoked both excitement and fear holding a variety of different creatures including tarantulas, snakes, rabbits and more…
Thankfully the rain didn’t stop anyone from coming along in their innovative spooky costumes and smiles on their faces.
The event wouldn’t have been such a success without our amazing staff, volunteers and youths who dedicated their time to make the event one to remember!
Our amazing volunteers included Andrea Bakhtiari, Joanna Parker, Jack Ferguson, Adrian Ferguson, Jennifer Plaisted, Natalie Evans, Georgie Davies, Louise Westgarth, Elaine Green, Julie Powell, Steven Pesticcio, Caitlin, Jason Smith, and Logan Heirchlinger.
The talented individuals from our youth project and CAVC who put on an amazing show for our tours and helped decorate our frightening rooms in the lead up to the event included Rosalyn Mortimer, Poppy Taylor, Isabella Cassenis, Masie McDonald, Charlie Mullins, Zuzanna Thlon, AJ Kelly, Joseph Humphreys, Caitlyn Aylward, Jack Humphreys, Chris Humphreys, Chloe Wallace, Debra Mapstone, Alex Kazmercheck, Rebecca Humphreys, Libby Edwards, Beth McAnimal.
Our hardworking staff included Christine Borley, Steve Borley, Kath Hinton, Mary Harris, Cat Pargeter, Ronan Dowling, Esme French, Lucy Jenkins, Yolanda Heichlinger, Beth Willis, Mackenzie Webber, Jacqulyn Dando, Wayne Mortimer, Craig Smith, and Myles Stonier.
Thank you to Colin Dixon the DJ for keeping the Disco grooving and everyone entertained.
Thank you to the security; Les Newman, Russ Davies, and Richie Smith who kept the event enjoyable and issue free!
A further thank you to the girls from Thackeray At The Hall; Debbie, Katie, Kirsty, Jade, Annmarie, and Louise for hosting a lovely BBQ across the three days and supplying our guests with hot food!
We couldn’t have dressed the house as well as it was and hosted such a successful event without the generous donations of many. The generous individuals and companies included Poplar Insulation, Gareth Williams from Willis Construction donating, Group SCS, Esme donating the money she raised from running the Cardiff Half Marathon, CVAC, and Orbital Fabrications. It was thanks to your very kind contributions that we were able to make this event as memorable and successful as it was – thank you!
And we would like to say a final thank you to all those who brought tickets and came on either of the three days. You all created an amazing atmosphere and made our event great! Hopefully see you all next year at Halloween @ The Hall.
We can’t wait to bring this back for you again next year and introduce even more local people to the haunting home of Llanrumney Hall. Until then, thank you to each and every person who showed up for this event – the feedback was better than we could have ever expected and that makes all the difference.
