WHAT IS THE PANTRY?
What is the pantry
Llanrumney Hall Pantry is part of the Your Local Pantry franchise and is a community facility that aims to reduce food poverty in Cardiff East and provide affordable and accessible food and household essentials to the local community. It is run by the Community Trust and in its first 2 weeks alone became the fastest growing Your Local Pantry franchise in the UK.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
How does the pantry work
This is one of the most common questions we get asked and it is in fact quite simple: You pay just £7 per week and this gives you access to The Pantry every Thursday.
This £7 will grant you access to The Pantry and allow you to choose 10 items. These 10 items are made up of 3 'Hearts' and 7 'Diamonds'. The Diamonds are any item worth £1.50 and less and the Hearts are any item worth £1.50 and more.
Generally, these 10 items will come to between £30-£35 worth of goods and often you will be given 2 items per diamond so you will almost always leave The Pantry with more than the advertised 10 items.

When is the pantry open
Thursday 9:30am - 4pm.
Please note - last customer/admission at 3:45pm.
HOW DO I APPLY?
How do I apply to the pantry
It doesn't matter your age, employment status, income or anything else - there is only one current requirement to be eligible to join The Pantry membership and that is that you are a Llanrumney resident. Please bring proof of address when you come for your first shop.

HOW CAN I DONATE?
So far, The Llanrumney Hall Pantry has seen a remarkable £16,000 donated to the project.

THE PET FOOD BANK SERVICE
The Llanrumney Hall Pantry is currently an outlet for The Pet Food Bank Service, and we have been working with them for over 2 years. The charity focuses on providing pet owners with what they need for their animals such as pet food, during this tough cost of living crisis. We believe what they’re doing is amazing and are here to support. If you have a pet and you need help, please call reception on 029 2000 1441 or pop into reception.

PANTRY AMBASSADOR - JESS FISHLOCK MBE
The Llanrumney Hall Pantry is incredibly lucky to have Wales' International Football Teams most capped player, Jess Fishlock MBE, as our Ambassador.
Jess came on as our Ambassador in September 2020 and threw herself right in the deep end by offering help in any way that she could.
Jess has donated a great deal of both time and money to this community service and continues to do so.
As a Llanrumney native, born and bred, she is proud to give back to her community and contribute towards the developments that this area continues to see.
