New and Exciting Pottery Opportunity at Llanrumney Hall
Llanrumney Hall Community Trust has a new, self-contained ground level Pottery facility located to the rear of Thackeray’s Café at Llanrumney Hall, with a nearby set of new toilets for community use, including a fully equipped disabled toilet. We have provisionally named the facility ‘Clay Days’.
The Pottery Studio provides a safe and relaxed place for people to come and learn about Pottery. With an airy studio facility in a new, purpose-built, high quality modular building, there is plenty of space to get creative with clay. The ceramic studio benefits from a brand-new Kiln to fire pottery, a brand-new Electric Pottery Wheel for throwing, a clay store, and racking for decorative slips, underglazes, and glazes.
The studio is decked out with workbenches and table space, well equipped for hand-building techniques like coiling, slab building, and pinch pots and has a range of tools to make great pottery. We also have portable ramps to cover the small step into the entrance of the Pottery Studio, making it accessible for all.
We are seeking expressions of interest for one lead provider to rent, occupy and deliver ranges of Pottery related training and services for our great community location in East Cardiff, which will have opportunities for the Potter and Ceramist to make ranges of items for sale to visitors and users of this wonderful former stately home. There are also opportunities throughout the year for Pottery items to be displayed and sold at our range of annual open day events for the large surrounding community of Llanrumney (circa 12,000 population) and visitors to our Grade II* Listed building.
We work closely with local Schools and Colleges and host a growing number of interactive schools holiday half term events at our location.
