Llanrumney Hall Win Cardiff & Vale College Business & Partner Award

On Monday 4th December, Cardiff and Vale College hosted their 2023 Annual Awards. This is a time for the college to reflect upon and celebrate the hard work, success and progression of their students and partners, as the year comes to a close.

The event was held in CAVC’s City Centre Campus and was hosted by broadcaster, journalist and CAVC alumni, Jason Mohammad.

Llanrumney Hall Community Trust had been nominated for a Business and Partner Award. Our Founder Steve Borley, General Manager Kath Hinton, Associate Lynne Dando, and Marketing & Communications Assistant, Esme French attended the awards and we are extremely pleased to announce that Llanrumney Hall Community Trust won the Business and Partner Award.

Cardiff and Vale College reflected on the partnership between the two organisations saying the below:

“CAVC have collaborated with Llanrumney Hall community Trust for almost four years, having been a key partner in the College’s Civic Mission in East Cardiff.

Together, we have provided teaching and learning opportunities for local residents including Forest Schools, counselling, adult learning courses and more. The Trust has also developed a successful community programme which provides opportunities for local children, young people, and families to build social networks, experience new activities and develop their skills. They have also assisted CAVC in hosting four Skills Competition Wales and WorldSkills competitions in horticulture.

The Trust has successfully created a community hub: providing an inclusive space for people and serving as an excellent satellite site for CAVC to reach out and support the social, economic, environmental, and cultural wellbeing of the area.”

It was an absolute honour to win this award and attend the event. It was inspiring to see what CAVC students and CAVC Partners have achieved and what’s to come in the near future. A huge congratulations to all who won awards, you are truly inspiring!

A few words from our Founder and Chair of Trustees, Steve Borley:

‘A big thank you to Cardiff and Vale College for supporting and believing in our project. It’s really been the cornerstone of what we’ve tried to do in Llanrumney, and the community of Llanrumney thanks the College very much for this award as well as the work you’ve done with us over the years.’

A special thank you to Cardiff and Vale College for presenting us with this award. We’re excited to continue our working partnership and collaborations in the future!
