Marching Band Coming To Llanrumney Hall

Southern XL's are a marching display band who formed in 2006, headed up by Mark and Anthony who both grew up in Llanrumney and will be performing on the field in front of Llanrumney Hall on Sunday 29th May, 9am-4pm. The band, whose members have marched in bands across South Wales spanning over nearly 4 decades, have fought hard to remain active since the devastating impact of Covid. Pre-Covid, the Southern XL's annual event was a widely anticipated and popular event attracting up to 12 bands from across the UK however the pandemic struck the band world hard and bands have dwindled. This event is their first for 3 years and with so many less bands being able to attend, they are strongly welcoming the local community to join them. Marching bands have always been popular in mining towns across the UK therefore many people from across Llanrumney, Cardiff and the Valleys will remember bands from their childhood and may have even been a part of them. Southern XL's urge you to come and join them, support them and relive some of your childhoods. On the day, they’ll have marching bands performing their display, a live results presentation, a marching parade, stalls, games, raffles and refreshments.
