October Half Term At The Hall

Llanrumney Hall Community Trust are pleased to announce that we are teaming up with Cardiff and Vale College again to deliver another half term full of exciting programmes and opportunities the week commencing Halloween. See below for details and how to get involved.


1. Children’s Arts and Crafts :

Creatively Yours have teamed up with Cardiff and Vale College to bring you Children’s Arts & Crafts Club. The children will be experimenting with a variety of mixed media, such as painting and creating mini sculptures. This club aims to bring the creative and artistic side out of children that lies beneath all of them, and to get them out of the house during their time off school.


The club will take place in the Arts and Craft’s Room at Llanrumney Hall, is completely FREE, and is open to children aged between 4 and 12 years old.


We advise to book as soon as possible as there are limited spaces. Please wear clothes you wouldn’t mind getting a little dirty. If you cannot make your slot, please can you ring reception so we can release your slot. We also ask all parents to stay on site during the club.

2. Children’s Story Time:

Creatively Yours will be hosting a cosy and relaxed story time, so come along with your favourite cuddly toy and blanket. We will be reading ‘Funny Bones’ by Allan Ahlberg during our first session, and ‘I want my hat back’ by Jon Klassen during our second.


The club will take place in the Kemey’s Room at Llanrumney Hall, is completely FREE, and is open to children aged 6 and under.


Please book your slot as soon as possible to secure your place. If you cannot make your slot, please can you ring reception so we can release your slot. We also ask all parents to stay on site during the club.

3. Mindfulness Doodling Session:

Looking for a new type of therapeutic activity? Come to Llanrumney Hall and drift off into your own little creative world. We’ll supply paint, pens and pencils and you take it from there. Come in and chat or just draw and colour in solitude. There will be a friendly atmosphere awaiting you, accompanied by relaxing music to keep that pen-hand flowing.


The session will take place in the Arts & Craft’s Room at Llanrumney Hall, costs £2 to cover tea/coffee and materials, and is open to adults aged 16 and over.

4. Knit & Natter:

Every Friday, Llanrumney Hall hosts the Knit & Natter group for locals who want to just meet up for a cup of tea and a good old knit! We will provide tea and biscuits as well as wool and needles to those who do not have access to any.


This weekly session takes place in Morgan’s Room, requires a £1 donation fee and is open to all.

Date/Time: Every Friday from 10:00 - 12:00. Friday 4th November is the Half Term session.


5. Halloween at The Hall:

Llanrumney Hall are pleased to announce we are hosting a 3-day family fun spooky Halloween event on October 29th, 30th and 31st.

Due to the high demand of the Halloween event, we have now introduced Grounds tickets to the 3-day event. These tickets will NOT grant you access to our House of Horrors event however it will grant you access to everything else on the day from 5:30pm - 9:30pm, including:

  • A live DJ disco in the polytunnel playing Halloween hits for the children all night.

  • BBQ by Thackeray At The Hall (so no need to worry about cooking dinner)!

  • 1 x Halloween themed room which has been decorated and arranged by our team of creative local young people (prepare to be spooked)!

  • Stalls serving refreshments, fizzy drinks, sweets, candy floss, popcorn, Halloween themed goodies, toys and more.

  • Games and activities for the children.

  • Raffles and hamper prizes to be won.

  • And yes don't worry adults, alcohol will be available on all 3 nights too.


Don’t forget to wear your best Halloween costume! We are encouraging everyone to dress up to set the mood and add to the event and there will be a best dressed trophy to be won!
