Social Media Influencer, Scott McGlynn, Visits The Pantry For Aviva Cost Of Living Initiative

Updated: Nov 18, 2022

In August of 2020, Llanrumney Hall Community Trust initiated our fundraising platform to kick-start The Llanrumney Hall Pantry, via the Aviva Community Funding page. This funding page was instrumental in securing the funds needed to get The Pantry off the ground as well as raise knowledge among the community and the local and national media.

Well just over 2 years later, Aviva got in touch with us to say they were highlighting some of their notable fundraisers and that we had been chosen as a case study. We were lucky to be visited by social media influencer, Scott McGlynn, who visited The Pantry in order to raise awareness of Aviva’s Cost Of Living Boost. This boost is part of the Aviva Community Fund which supports causes that helps people with their financial wellbeing. Such causes can be eligible for matched public donations pound for pound (up to £250 for each donation). Aviva has pledged to donate an incredible £2 million in total!

Scott spoke to our team about Llanrumney Hall as a charity, The Pantry as a community service, how the cost of loving crisis has impacted the Cardiff East community, how the Aviva fundraiser helped us and what our future plans are. This was a great opportunity for Llanrumney Hall and The Pantry to be represented on a national level to his 270,000 Instagram followers and tell the story of what we do and how we came to be.

A special thank you to both Aviva and Scott for choosing Llanrumney Hall Pantry as the case study for this conversation. We believe we have a unique story to tell at The Hall and it’s great to see so many people taking an interest to what it is we do here.

You can watch Scott’s full interview with us below.
