Summer Holiday Programme 2026

The summer holidays are here, which means our Summer Holiday Programme is back!

We've got another fantastic line-up of free activities to keep children entertained throughout the school holidays, with everything from crafts and outdoor adventures to games, history and wildlife. Whether your child enjoys getting creative, exploring outdoors or trying something new, there's plenty to look forward to.

All activities are free of charge. Some sessions may require booking, so please check the details below.

1) Make a Summer Scrap Book

Get creative and capture your favourite summer memories by designing your own scrapbook. Decorate each page with colourful materials, drawings and fun ideas to make something you'll want to keep.

2) Play Shack with Cardiff Council

Join Cardiff Council's Play Team for an afternoon of outdoor fun. Expect plenty of opportunities to build, create and play using a wide range of exciting loose parts and materials.

3) Make a Bug Hotel

Help create a cosy home for some of nature's smallest creatures. Learn why insects are so important while building your own bug hotel using natural materials.

4) Scavenger Hunt

Head around the Hall grounds in search of clues, hidden objects and surprises. A fun way to explore outdoors while working together to complete the challenge.

5) Pebble Painting

Turn ordinary pebbles into colourful works of art. Whether you paint animals, patterns or positive messages, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

6) Make a Musical Instrument

Create your own musical instrument using everyday materials, then put it to the test with some fun tunes and rhythms.

7) Den Building

Gather natural materials and work together to build the perfect den. A great activity for little explorers who love the outdoors.

8) Make a Sock Puppet

Design and decorate your own sock puppet before bringing it to life with plenty of imagination and storytelling.

9) Active Quiz for Kids

A fun-filled quiz with a twist! Expect movement, games and challenges alongside plenty of brain teasers.

10) Litter Pick & Conservation Club

Help care for the local environment while learning about wildlife and keeping our green spaces looking their best.

11) Story & Make a Coat of Arms

Step back in time with a story from Llanrumney Hall before creating your own unique coat of arms inspired by history.

12) Make a Time Capsule

13) Mini Ghost Making & Ghost Hunt
