Creative Play:
Llanrumney Hall Community Trust are working in partnership with Play Wales to give you the opportunity to secure your Level 1 Play work Qualification.
What is Creative Play?
Playwork not only acts as a qualification but is also a profession for many people. As a Level 1 Playworker, you will be accredited to work anywhere where children play, such as childcare settings, out of school clubs, doorstep and neighbourhood play projects and holiday playschemes.
Play is fundamental to a child’s physical and mental health and wellbeing and in a time where getting outdoors and socialising is more important than ever, unfortunately in today's Wales there are fewer and fewer opportunities for kids to play independent of adults. We believe children deserve the opportunity to explore the world around them and play freely and with confidence and we want to help deliver the opportunity for these children to encounter a wide range of experiences and possibilities and where the adults involved understand the nature and importance of all aspects of children's play and work to support it.
A common misconception is that playworkers play with children. In reality, playworkers enable children to extend their own play and they protect and enhance the play space to enrichen the play environment. Playworkers neither direct nor organise play, they are trained to judge when or whether to intervene.
About Our Course:
Llanrumney Hall’s Creative Play project aims to provide more opportunities for not only young children, but also the adults that make these social play events come to fruition. We want to encourage adults to encourage children to play, socialise, learn, stay engaged, discover new hobbies and skills and grow their confidence. Imagine being able to run a course through the summer holidays and to treat your own children to 2 hours of pure, uninhibited play. This is something we believe every child deserves the experience of.
Llanrumney Hall’s Creatively Yours team have already acquired the Level 1 Playwork qualification and will have undertaken the Level 2 qualification prior to the course, providing advice and support to the course attendees every step of the way. Our aim is to provide you with the tools, materials and space for you to run your own, successful play area.
This is a wonderful opportunity for you to gain a FREE qualification and to one day run your own Creative Play sessions at Llanrumney Hall, becoming a potential source of employment and income for you in the future.
