Morgan's Table: Recipe For Life Youth Programme

Morgan’s Table Café have spent the last couple of months working on a youth training programme called Recipe For Life. They have taken on a number of young people to train them in the field of hospitality and catering so that they can enhance their skills and qualifications.

The 12-week programme is designed to enable young people to gain a taster of aspects of the hospitality and catering industry whilst providing the key skills and confidence to aid personal development and lead to them to a successful career or pathway.

Morgan’s Table targeted young people aged 16-25 who are not in education, employment or training, thereby helping those who are in need of qualifications and experience. The programme is in partnership with Cardiff Youth Service Post 16 Team, Adult Community Learning and Cardiff Councils Into Work Youth Employment Team.

As the students have been progressing throughout the course, they have undertaken increasingly more advanced tasks and will start the biggest challenge yet where they cater for a Pop-Up Youth Café at Llanrumney Hall on Tuesday 27th July. The food and drinks will be provided by them as well as all hospitality and organisation. This will be an exciting task for the students as they get their first real taste of what the industry is like.

The Pop-Up Café will be from 5-7pm in partnership with Cardiff Youth Service and will have entertainment including a DJ and music, sporting activities and food and socialising. And what’s more is it will all be affordable with Meals Deals starting at just £2.50 (menu will include Pizza, Chips, Hotdogs, Chicken and Veggie wraps etc).

So if you are looking to support the young students and get a community experience with food and entertainment, be sure to pop by on July 27th.

Ps. As the programme nears its end in the next few weeks, Morgan’s Table will be looking for new recruits for the next stage of the programme. If you are interested, please give them a call on 02920 001446 and ask for Russell who will be able to provide you with more information.
